Okay so yesterday I go to fire up my Vostro 1500 to test out my network...only to find out the top is utterly destroyed, LCD cracked; since I was going to upgrade to WUXGA and replace the palmrest/bottom casing due to the earlier damage; there are the photos of the damage. I'll include photos along the way as well as where I sourced the parts. Of course big thanks for Commander Wolf with what panels to choose from.

Yeah the odd part was the laptop was sitting on top of my fridge at my rented out place...I must have placed my Sager on top of it, cause it has never been dropped in awhile.

while the individual parts are relatively inexpensive, it will cost you an arm and leg to fix it

    LCD about $80
    bottom base $40
    Top part $30
    bezel $25
    lid $30
    media bar $15

Better off to buy a used one and swap parts
