    Hi,

    A few problems ;
    1) sometimes movies get stuck esp when full screen and skipping/changing volume but also when small screen and not doing anything - happens in all programs.
    2) movies only have sound or video even though they worked before (VLC).
    3) got a new AC adapter REV A03 (because of the jumping mouse problem on rev A00) and its only 65 W + it slows down the computer (it does not move - disconnect it everything is fine..)
    they even sent me the wrong cable so I had to try it with my old one.
    I have a Vostro 1500
    8600GT
    T7500
    2GB ram
    win XP

    thanks for the help!

    Did you install proper codecs?

    Did you get the new AC adapter from Dell? If you did than return it for the 90 watt adapter. The 65 watt AC adapter is only for notebooks with integrated graphics cards like the x3100.

    Your 8600GT is going to need more power than a 65 watt adapter can provide.

    You need to have the 90w. Get Dell to ship you a new one if your old one makes the mouse jump.

    You might have the DMA disabled. Go to

    Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> IDE/Sata controllers

    and check the IDE/SATA channels (by double-clicking each of them) in Advanced Settings tab. One of them will be connected to harddisk and another will have the CD. UDMA Mode 5 or 6 is harddisk. The other with a low DMA value or PIO is the optical drive. Make sure your CD has DMA enabled. If it fell back to PIO mode you can enable it by uninstalling the channel on the right-click menu of that channel and then using Action->"Scan for hardware changes" menu option.

    Hope this helps.
