Vostro 1500, Dell Monitor E207WFP Dual, Driver Issues?

Vostro 1500 notebook, with NVIDIA 8400M GS
Dell 20'' E207WFP monitor...got the driver off of Dell.com

Does not connect, worked perfectly with xp.

Under device manager, it finds the monitor.

But in windows Mobility Center or Display settings, DOES not recognize it.

At one point before i downloaded a new driver (R159774) it would connect but monitor screen was still black, and went into "auto detect sleep mode"

Under the dell driver for E207WFP, "compatibility" DOES not include VOSTRO! How do i change to somethign else??

PLEASE HELP DRIVING ME CRAZY
