    Hi,

    I have a Vostro 1400 with 8400MGS.

My current LCD is cracked, shopping for replacement.

My current LCD is 1280x800. Can I drop in a 1440x900 LCD?

As long as you get the right screen, it will work. Just make sure you get something specifically for the Vostro 1400 or at least something from any other 14" Dell of the same generation (ie if you want a matte screen, the D630 WXGA+ will work).
