I have a Vostro 1310, and was wondering if other users can confirm if the keyboard being a bit bouncy especially on the right-side around the O P K L area is normal? It has the updated keyboard with the \ on the right instead of left and delivery was delayed a fair bit so I'm thinking that maybe the keyboard wasn't fitted right if this isn't normal.

    Cheers

my 1310 does not have bouncy keys. Mine is from Asia (Singapore) and the "\" key is just above the Enter key.

Cheers for the replies, guess I'd better get on to Dell - luckily I have 3 year on-site so shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

I like it a lot and would buy again - I was going to get an XPS M1330 but I got a very good deal on the 1310 plus I much prefer the all black look to the XPS multi-colour design which I think looks cheap and the matt screen option was a bonus as I really hate shiny screens.

    The spec I have is:

    T9300 C2D 2.5Ghz CPU
    4Gb RAM
    250Gb H/D
    DVD Writer
    GeForce 8400GS 128Mb graphics
    Bluetooth
    Vista Business
6 cell battery + spare 6 cell battery
    3 year next-day on-site warranty

    Cost me £600 delivered 2 month's ago (approx $1200)

I use it for normal office/internet stuff, photoshop, watching DVD/video, playing Civ4, Neverwinter Nights 2, Guild Wars and Football Manager 2008 and it handles it all with ease. The only thing I would say against it is the speaker is absolute crap - too tinny and not much volume (a mate has the same complaint about his XPS 1330 though) so I bought Jabra BT620s bluetooth stereo headphones and they works perfectly with movies and music sounding great.

your reply gave me more confidence. i wanted to get XPS but out of budget. they charge too much for 3 years warranty.

how much you paid for? is there any chance to get discounts ? because i am buying same like yours. on XPS there is 4% discount here. should i use 5400 RPM HDD or get 7200 RPM. my main use is photoshop n browsing etc.

    btw +rep for reply

I got it for £600 (around $1200) delivered, but it was through a friend whose company have an account with Dell, When I priced it up to buy myself it was nearly £1000 ($2000) at the time so I saved around 40% which was good. My H/D is 5400rpm, 7200rpm is faster but will run hotter - H/D is any easy swap later should I want to anyway..

Finally I placed order for XPS M1330. The reason because there is no good discount on vostro here. For the same config as XPS M1330 There was hardly 100$ or 150$ difference. Then i thought to go wid 1330 by paying some extra.

    Btw thanks for help guys.
