I called Dell and they said this combination would work. I just needed to download a driver from them. I have seen a multitude of part numbers associated with this card. Are they all the same? How do I know which exact one will work with my laptop?
I don't want to buy it from Dell. I can find much cheaper online.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I just upgraded the 3945 drivers on my wife's (office) D-620 - I went to the Intel site and downloaded them from there. Granted, it has an Intel processor but I don't think there is a problem running that card on a system with an AMD processor. If I understood your question correctly - here is a link to the 4965 drivers on Intel: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2753&lang=eng

    Thanks You for the reply,
I just called Dell again to verify(again)that this card works in my laptop. Now they tell me that my computer only has 2 antennas and this card requires 3. They don't have any antennas to sell and don't know what to do. Do you have 2 antennas in your system?
    Thanks,
    Mike

The card does not require 3 antennas. It gives it the option to hop between 3 antennas instead of two, but two will still work fine.
