URGENT- I just orderd a E6400 from the outlet. It has a standard wxga screen model Rk197. I can manage the res. , but the display quality is important. I heard some disturbing rumours... Can some one shed some light on this display? Should i cancel the order?

    The display quality is variable.

The WXGA+ with LED backlight is better (more real estate, brighter and lower power consumption = better battery time), but the quality is also variable.

It all depends on what you want.

Is there no way to figure it out with the screen model? I prefer not to go through the nightmare of exchanging it...

Even if you get a LG LCD Panel,it can still be grainy... have issues. If the price is right just order it,you can always return it if its not to your liking.

Good News- I managed to cancel the outlet order (a took me a full HOUR to get the right person on the phone...)
Now I'm debating between two E6400 outlet(S&D) laptops with the same specs - but one has a ultrasharp led display and the other a regular led display.
What is the difference between them? I use my laptop mainly for graphic design (PS & IND), typing long documents and watching movies. I'm pulling the trigger really soon, so please help!

its higher resolution, but some people dont like the fact everything seems smaller. although if you're using vista, it scales very well....so u just need to change some settings
