I have a Latitude E4200 and I want to upgrade the SSD to an Ultra performance SSD, is this possible and how would you do it?

IIRC, the SSDs in the E4200 are the bare PCBs of Samsung 1.8" SSDs. You can find these bare SSDs on eBay and the like, but they're rare. The mobility option is an MLC drive and the performance option is an SLC drive, but both actually offer similar performance. I have never seen the bare 64GB MLC or SLC on sale anywhere, but if you extract the PCB from a drive like this...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SAMSUNG-64GB-1-8-SOLID-STATE-DISK-SSD-DRIVE-SLC_W0QQitemZ330322722428QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item330322722428&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A10|39%3A1|240%3A1318

It should be equivalent to the performance option.

Really? I've heard the SLC is much faster and longetivity than the MLC drives...

SLC typically are faster, especially in writes, but not always. But they definitely will last longer.
