I have a fairly new (6months) old M4600 that came with the 15.6" touch screen 720P display. I keep hearing people talk about WLED IPS etc and I don't know what this means necessarily but I want to upgrade my display to 1080P. I know it probably means that I'll lose the touch capability but that doesn't really matter to me at this point. Will the FHD screen on this page work for me or no? If not where do I get one that will? What do I need to check to find out?

The only thing that I do know is that my current display is a 720p touch screen and is LED backlit and that it has the nvidia video card and quad core i7

There is no IPS WLED, it's RGBLED IPS "Premium" panel. There's QUITE a bit of work involved in doing such a swap, it might just be easier selling your M6600 and buying one in the Outlet site that already has the Premium panel. If you coupon camp, you can get a pretty good deal on an M6600 in Outlet.

Easier is great but you can buy the premium panel for $149US with the invertor/cable assembly and the question is .... can I replace the assembly in mine with the upgraded assembly and will it work ..... the labor isn't scary. I just need to know if the part will function before I pay $149 for it.

The laptop I have is a quad core i7 with 16 gigs of ram and a 1tb hard disk and the high end nvidia graphics option .... the only thing that I'm unhappy with is the resolution of the display because the person that bought it for me thought I would like the touch screen and I'd rather have the added resolution than the touch screen.
