Hi, do you still have the RTX 3000 for sale? I'm bidding on a 7530 on ebay and I'm planning to do a GPU swap following your guide. I need raytracing for Arnold renderer in 3dsmax, my old lenovo can't keep up! If you don't have the 3000, do you have others for sale? Thanks so much for the guide btw!

    Hello everyone.

When I upgraded my 7540 to RTX5000, both the existing RTX3000 and heatsink came out. Can I use the RTX3000 and heatsink which came out on a 7530? Or can the original heatsink on the 7530 work with the RTX3000? The 7530 has a Radeon Pro WX 4150. Is there anything else I need to take care of like different DGFF connectors etc.?

Will be grateful if someone can throw some light.

This post details everything you need. :)

The 7530 and 7540, besides the motherboard, GPU and heatsink, are identical. The RTX 3000 and the heatsink are (nearly) drop-in replacements for the 7530, but you will need to re-sign the drivers.

Hi, what's the part number for RTX 4000 and RTX 5000 for 7530/7540 ? They aren't on the first post :/

    Hi all,

I'm thinking about replacing my AMD Radeon WX4150 on 7530 with something more powerfull, RTX3000-5000.

What I gathered so far is following:
    • Since WX4150 have only 2 NGRJG Board-to-Board cables I would need to get third one
    • Power cable is the same I believe
    • Heatsink I need to get part M2F8R as per reccomendations here
    • Modify the drivers :)
But other then that that should be all, right?

Btw, any idea how the BIOS will behave? Is it so clever that when nVidia will be detected it will change the AMD options in BIOS for nVidia Optimus? Or do I need to flash something?

EDIT: Any idea if Dell still offers these cards in stock? I mean I have the 7530 still in warranty - so if I just call them to send me the card will they do that or there is some trick to do? I mean they will see system is configured with AMD :)

Thanks for a great thread and information!

If we're talking about Precision 7530, note that RTX 3000 uses a different heatsink than RTX 4000/5000. (It might actually be the same as the one that you currently have for your AMD card, not sure.)
You've basically got it. The BIOS will work itself out when the new card is installed.
