From what I understand our laptops take up to a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) res display. I unfortunatley on a 1200 x 800 display. I was doing some reading online and found out that the LCD compoenent itself is compatable with pretty much all displays. So if you found a sharp wuxga 15.4" display you can pretty much retrofit it by swaping the frame and other compoents off your screen into the laptop. Does anyone know about this???

The Vostro 1510 does have an option for a WUXGA display, so there is definitely some LCD out there that fits. It is very probable that this LCD is used in other machines, but if you want a guaranteed fit, just make sure you buy an LCD that's quoted to work with the Vostro 1510.
