My new M4400 has the UPEK biometric gadget which seems to work great for boot up.
Does anyone know if the swipe can control other function whilst up and running in XP? and if so where do I find the app' to set it up?

    Thanks
    Rob

Don't have the UPEK on my precision, but it came with the Vostro 1310 and I seem to remember that it had an option to scroll with it also.

I don't have it in the house as one of my friends now has it,but from memory there was an icon in the control panel for setting up features in it,this may be also accessable from the icon in the task bar.

You can also set up a secure vault, which encripts files and are only accessable by using the FP scanner...the instructions are in the software somewhere because I used them to try it out.

Sorry for my roundabout sort of reply, but I only tried it once and then disabled it all.:)

My M4400 has the finger print reader thing, Ive been so busy stripping Vista down (~12 second startup w/ 90% of les's tweak thread done) that I havent gotten a chance to activate the finger print reader. Could someone help me out? Not sure what I have to do.

    Thanks!
