I'm considering abandoning windows for Ubuntu. I read a few months back that Dell ships Precisions, in the EU, with it's own iteration of Ubuntu specifically for the M6600.

I was wondering if anyone has it, used it, or knows where to obtain it?

Yes, I'm aware that I can obtain Ubuntu for free from Ubuntu's website; so please don't bother telling me this. I want Dell's iteration to save me some trouble hunting down drivers.

Dell's Ubuntu is outdated, AFAIK. Also, drivers should not be an issue. I would just recommend that you boot up a LiveCD of either Ubuntu (if you like the Unity interface) or Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu, preferable if you want a classic desktop interface). This will show you what kind of experience you can look forward to and if there are any driver issues.

At least on my M4500, everything works right out of the box (Ubuntu or Mint - no extra drivers required).
