I experiencing a type display mishap in both my Lattitude D600 and D420 laptops. The problem is a follows:

As I am typing a sentence the characters appears in sequential order as I type in, sometimes when I type in the next character it does NOT appear as the last character but appear somewhere in the middle of the sentence.

This "fault" is intermitent and it never occur in my IBM laptop, T20 or T23

Any help to fix this is welcome. Thanks.

This sometimes happens when you accidentally hit the touchpad while typing. Sometimes the cursor is hidden while typing (depends on your settings) which is why you might not see it move.

I do that too, but it was one thing that can explain the symptom.

I spoke to Dell support, he told tme he problem could due to dirty/faulty keyboard, so remove keyboard and remove any trapped debris. That may fix the problem, if it doesn't then the keyboard is faulty.
