    hi

I have an older Latitude D400 that I am going to be taking to college with me soon. The laptop doesn't have S-video out or anything but it does have a VGA monitor out port.

Is there some cable I can use to make it be able to output video to a television? Either RCA or Svideo would be fine.

I have something like this: http://www.digiecity.com/retail/catalog/images/computers/c040.jpg but so far I have been unable to figure out how to get it work with the laptop.

    Thank you

Most TV nowadays are equipped with RCA and HDMI. Older TV sets may only have RCA. So, depending on what your video input ports are on your TV, your best bet is to get a VGA to RCA or VGA to HDMI cable.

my tv has both rca and S-video. That isn't the problem

I have that cable I linked to above (it has both vga to s/vid - rca) but i don't get a signal through to the TV on either input.

That's where i need help. I don't know much about computers and I've played with the "intel extreme graphics 2M" control panel but i don't know if that's all i need to try. I don't even know if what I am trying is possible. I know it has to do something with the video chipset but beyond that i am looking to get help clearing this up here.
