New to the forum and am to receive an E6500 on Monday. Well, actually I won't get it until Monday next week as I'm currently on vacation in the Appalachians where I extremely bandwidth limited :) After downloading and looking at the service manual for the E6500, I became aware of Flash Card Memory that can be installed inside the laptop. Yet, Dell did not offer this as an option, and I'm curious as to why. I see where Amazon has an Intel 1GB module for $28, but I also see where there is now a 2.0 spec for the module. Which one might the Latitude use? I also see where the affect on performance is minimal, but, hey, for $28, why not? Any thoughts and tips? Thanks.

The E-series uses the 2.0 spec. I personally wouldn't get the module though.

the latitude should be able to use both the original turbo mem and the new turbo mem 2.0. but I suggest u check the service manual to see if a mini pci slot is available.
I really can't appreciate your rationale for wasting money, but it's your money to waste. If you do change your mind though, donate the money to Africa.:)
