Just a little warning that may save somebody from so much hassle:

I bought a Precision M6600 and separately a Transcend SSD720 256GB, because it is very fast, has gotten good reviews and wasn't too expensive.
Installation was painless, initial boot of the Windows 7 installer DVD worked fine, but after that the disk caused problems:
Currently it is recognized by the BIOS only about every third boot attempt.

Transcend support said there will be a firmware update soon, but "in most cases the data will be lost" when installing the firmware.

Yuck - I really don't want to install all those dell drivers, office and lot of other stuff again, so I need to mirror the drive, update, and restore.
Would have liked to avoid that work, not to mention the really stupid feeling of having to power off and on again my shiny new and expensive notebook a couple of times before it finally starts.
