Thinking about getting a Precision M4400 from the Dell Outlet. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on what i should look out for?

I want to get a durable work station notebook and narrowed down my choices to the Precision M4400, HP Elite Book and Thinkpad W500.

Getting the Precision from the Outlet seems the cheapest option. Anyone have any experience getting a laptop from there?

Are there any issues i should look for in terms of the M4400 build/quality?

    Thanks for the help.

I would highly recommend buying the M4400 from the outlet. I purchased mine from the outlet. When I received mine, it seemed as if the top of the screen was a little loose (perhaps missing some internal clips to hold it down.) When I complained to the tech support, they ordered me a brand new notebook with the exact same specs. This is why I keep coming back to Dell. Their business warranty is second to none. By the way, the Precisions come with a 3 year next business day warranty!

Would definitely recommend buying from the Outlet. I bought my current E6400 from the Outlet. It was basically brand new, save for a couple smudges here and there and that little green "Refurbished" sticker on the bottom (and even that I'm sure you can peel right off). As mentioned, all Outlet Latitudes and Precisions have the same three-year warranty as their new counterparts, so there really isn't much of a benefit from buying new if you can find a unit with your desired specs.

As for the M4400, if you don't need the extra GPU power or the RGB LED (though I doubt you can find Outlet units with that yet), I'd get the E6500 instead, just for the lower heat and noise that the X4500 or NVS160M will give you.
