    So.
Does any of the new Latitudes or Precisions support the hybrid graphics (switchable between integrated and dedicated) or not?
I thought that the hybrid gfx was one of the things that all Centrino 2 laptops had, no?

Hybrid graphics is a feature of AMD's Puma platform; Intel doesn't have this technology out yet. I am not sure whether those models you mentioned have AMD solutions.

The new Thinkpad T series has switchable graphics. And they have intel chipset, CPU, but ATI gfx. Is the ATI GPU the point that makes it possible then?

^ I'm going to read up on whether its a Puma exclusive technology or not. For now, disregard my first post, but you have a good question.

EDIT: Read the link below. ATI's hybrid graphics require AMD's 780G chipset. So it is exclusive to the Puma platform.

Darn, I'm confused... I always thought that the new Intel platform had the hybrid graphics aswell, oh well...
But.... Even though the Thinkpad T series has Intel CPU and the integrated GPU is intel's X4500, it's on the Puma platform then?

The Puma platform belongs to AMD and consists of an AMD CPU, AMD chipset, and ATI graphics card (ATI is owned by AMD). If you want integrated graphics, AMD's Puma solution is the only game in town.

However, there is the Sony SZ, which has an Intel GMA 950 and a dedicated Nvidia solution. This is the only laptop (that I know of) capable of "hybrid" graphics. To switch graphics cards on this computer requires a reboot, however.

No, McBrainless, you're correct. Switchable graphics aren't unique to the Puma platform, the Centrino 2 platform can have them as well like in the Thinkpad T-Series you mentioned. That series doesn't even require a reboot. Unfortunately they aren't available in the new Latitudes or Precisions. :(

When you are on customisation page for video options, it will say: chose carefully as you can not change it later... or something like that.

That's true with 99% of the notebooks out there. You cannot update the video card. Intel is supposed to suport hybrid graphics in their new chipset. It is possible (if the Latitudes do not have it now) that it might be an option in the future.
