Surprise! Dell Precision 3540 released

Dell just put the Dell Precision 3540 up for order, breaking their pattern of releasing new models from the 3000, 5000, and 7000 line at around the same time. The 3540 still has 8th-gen CPUs ("U series" quad-core 15W). It does offer the AMD Radeon Pro WX 2100 GPU as a choice, for some reason lumped under "chassis options" rather than "graphics card" when configuring. By comparison, the 3530 offers 35W CPUs and NVIDIA Quadro P600. It looks like they are taking the 3000 series further into the lower-power-but-more-lightweight space.

Precision 3541 is also announced. It is more like the successor to the 3530. It offers high-end CPUs (9th-gen, 6-core, Xeon) and Quadro graphics. You can't order it yet, it's probably some weeks away.
