My apologies if this question has been asked/answered before, but didn't find anything specific in Search...
Should be receiving a "new" refurb E6530 and U2412M monitor on Monday, and wondered what type of tests to run on it to make sure everything is working properly, before I'm stuck with it ;-). I know a few things, but am not in IT so not always sure what to look for..
    Thanks!

If you want to be sure, run memtest to check the RAM, you can stress test it (Intel XTU's stress test or Prime 95 will do). If it has a GPU, you can also run something like OCCT or SpecViewPerf. The latter is a benchmark, but if you have a faulty GPU, it should show. Other than that, check the display for dead pixels. Dell also has a set of diagnostics you can run at boot, you could start with that.

    Thanks as always, Tijo,
I would hope Dell runs some diagnostics/updates BIOS/drivers before they send units out, but maybe that's kooky thinking nowadays;-). I'll let you know how it tests out.

Dell does run some tests, they have to make sure it works after all.
