I've heard random complaints about laptops. BSOD, cpu throttling etc.

I was using my M6400 lightly and everything seemed fine.
So, how should I stress test the laptop ? And there and laptop stressing programs ?

    I dont have games....

Also, should I upgrade the BIOS ?

Download Furmark to test the GPU and Orthos for the CPU. I really can't imagine any other component giving you trouble. Seriously, RAM overheating??? (assuming you haven't overclocked it...)
