Sound skipping fix by removing DVDROM - Solution?

    Finally, the only actual sound skipping fix that 100% works for me is to remove the DVDROM (model DU-8A2S) while listening to music. Wonder if anyone else has found this as the only temporary fix? Since I have no isolated it, has anyone found a solution for fixing the skipping while keeping the DVDROM in?

    Seems like there could be a possible DVDROM or BIOS firmware to fix this as it seems more like a bus timing issue now.

    Interested to hear thoughts from others that have noticed this same thing. Oh, and if you are one on a 6400 / 6500 still having sound sipping issues and haven't tried already, pop out your DVDROM and test :)
