My Vostro 1500 is starting to drag very slow while surfing :( ... youtube vids? Forget about it... it plays, stalls for a bit, goes again, ... not how it was when I first bought the laptop in Jan...

I don't think it's a virus as there are no pop ups, etc... all seems fine.. just slow as crap...

I am running with Firefox and Sprint wireless (air card)...

Any ideas where to start to remedy this situation?

I have 2 gigs of ram.

    tks

    Hi

I can think of 3 things to try:

    1) Are you using Firefox 3? The latest version of Firefox is known to 'hang' up intermittently. For no apparent reason. Switch to IE and see if you get the same problem.

    2) Switch your wireless router off and on. In other words, do a hard reset. Sometimes the router just goes bonkers and a hard reset will do the trick.

    3) If you have a desktop, try to see if that works? Or if you can get another laptop into the vicinity, check and see if that works too.

Flash uses a lot of resources so I use the FlashBlock add-on for Firefox. It may be worth trying, particularly if you tend to have lots of tabs open.
