Since everyone loves the E6400...can anyone tell me about any problems i may encounter?

    i think i want to buy this, and i hear high praises about it all the time. is there anything wrong with it that i should know about? any C2D whine stories (thats the only reason im getting rid of my current one!)? How is the LED screen?

    im excited about its quietness and rugedness heh.

    I haven't heard any CPU whine.

    The LED backlit screens can look washed out at full brightness. That's because they are very bright. However, you only need that brightness when working outside. I'm normally operating at about half brightness where the contrast is much better and i don't get dazzled.

    Some people are getting HDD noise. 5400rpm is recommended for less noise noise.

    The Dell software, although much improved on the initial versions, is still a little buggy.

    There are some problems with excessive fan noise when the computer is docked, particularly with the nvidia GPU.

    One weakness is the lack of sufficient rubber bumpers between display and palm rest which results in marking. Some of these (but they need to be thinned) are one fix.
