I just got an E6500 from the outlet and it has no crackling audio problem.. There's a 15% coupon around now specifically for outlet Latitudes that would get you even more off.. I think it's the best value at Dell at the moment. I highly reccomend the WUXGA screen..

I've had my E6500 for a few weeks now, and I can honestly say I've zero complaints. I posted an initial review in the E6400 thread, and to date I've had none of any of the issues folks are talking about -- I'm impressed with the quality of the machine. Screen's gorgeous; sound is (charitably) "shallow"; keyboard's as close to ThinkPad "feel" as can be.

Do keep in mind: it's a heavy, solid feeling notebook. Since I keep it docked as a desktop replacement, this isn't an issue for me; on the other hand, I'd not want to road-warrior this thing all over the globe.

The only "complaint" I do have is with the Dell ControlPoint software -- it's a definite work-in-progress. But I imagine sooner or later Dell will fix this, too, since they tend to finish and standardize their business stuff over time.
