Looking at the dell site, it's pretty clear that I can put a second hard drive in both the vostro and the precision. However, I can't see that option for the Latitude. Am I missing something? The latitude, being right between the other two, is the best fit. But I do need the second internal drive.

An acceptable workaround would be if the Latitude had a removable optical drive that could be swapped with a hard-drive easily. But an external e-sata or usb2 drive would not work.

    Thanks!

If you're looking at an older D-Series machine, there are tons of old and new D-Bay HDD caddies floating around eBay for 2.5" PATA or SATA drives. If you're looking at an E-Series machine, it gets a bit trickier: Dell only makes "official" E-Series HDD caddies supporting 1.8" drives, and these aren't widely available for the most part.

You do have the option of trying this though:

Well, that's certainly interesting. Thanks for the pointer.
