    Hi,

My SD card reader seems "dead" on my E6400 running Win7 32bit.

I've tried installing various Ricoh drivers, including the Ricoh R5C847 for Win vista/xp 32 bit. I can't find a driver for Win7 32 bit, at least not on the Dell driver-support pages. Does anyone have a download-link for a working driver?

Secondly, where should I find the SD card reader device in the Device Manager? Shouldn't it be there somewhere even if it doesn't work? All other devices seems to have correct drivers installed, but can't find the SD Card reader anywhere?

    Thanks!

On Win 7 64 bit, my SD reader is listed under "SD Host Adapters", but mine also works, so it's hard to say where yours could be (if it isn't there).

The Vista x64 drivers worked for me, so I don't see any reason that the Vista x86 wouldn't work for you...
Maybe try uninstalling them and see if Windows can find the drivers on it's own?

I couldn't find the "SD Host Adapters" either. Strange.

But finally concluded that the SD reader for some reason might be disabled in the bios.

Problem solved: it was actually disabled. Runs great now. After rebooting, Win7 installed the driver for the SD reader automatically.

    Thanks for helping, anyway! :)

Ah, that would do it. There was one time where I disabled the "media bay" option in the BIOS, thinking that it meant the expresscard slot. One night, I spent an hour banging my head against the wall thinking, "why the **** isn't my secondary HDD working???"

I was pretty mad at myself when I found out.
