    Hello,

Received a Precision M4800 from my work, however they did not opt for more than the 1366x768 screen for the unit. I thought I would just swap the screen myself with the FHD option 1920x1080. Ordered one and swapped it out, however not getting any display on it. Backlight is activating properly I can see, but just nothing displayed for bios post or windows. Cable was not damaged as I can swap back to the original screen without issues.

I know the QHD screen has issues with switchable graphics, but the FHD should work fine.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I might be missing here? Might just be a bad screen, but verifying before I start down that path.

Figured that out this morning myself sadly. Mildly surprised they did not just use one model of LVDS cable verses having multiples but *shrug*

Thank you for the help however!

For anyone interested, the M4700 cable will not work for the M4800 sadly due to the length and angle of the system board connection, however the part number for the FHD LVDS cable for M4800 is 6G4XC. Had to call dell 4x times to find a rep that did not either say this has not been used in three years, has to be ordered in quantities of 50 or greater, or saying its out of stock with no anticipated restocking...... Fourth rep however was very helpful, found the part immediately, verified that it would do what I needed it to, and had it ordered for me within five minutes of calling.
