Hello, I have problem with my dell M6700 covet edition with ips screen sometimes screen just turns off/goes black or I suppose only backlight is working. When it seems that backlight is working pushing power button hibernates laptop and pushing it again wakes up the screen. When it is black i have to turn off laptop to get screen alive again. I've tried with few driver versions on windows 7 pro and 10 pro still result is the same from time to time this error shows after few minutes occasionally from 30-100. Currently I have on laptop windows 8.1 pro and up to time I have used on it a lot of different drivers from dell, normal nvidia and quadro edtions - none of them helped. I have also checked system with Dell ePSA and Dell diagnostick tools yesterday no errors.

Dell is equipped with 3920XM, K5000m, 16GB and ips screen with blocked optimus on board.
Anyone had similar issue is it rather software problem or gpu is broken? Any sugestions, ideas?

Do you have an external display to try? It might help you figure out if the GPU is working while the screen is messed up. I'd suspect the issue is in the display itself (but nothing really to go on for that conclusion).

Does sound like a hardware issue if you are able to reproduce it consistently on different OS installs. Unless you bought your M6700 right at launch, you should be under warranty, so it might be time to have Dell start replacing stuff...

Yes I have tried it, when I put d-sub from tv lcd into laptop screen wakes up and both show desktop.
Hard to say, but I've worked it with lcd and laptop connected, screen on m6700 turned off but display on tv was still showing normal desktop.
It is refurbished from June with suspended service tag, so I hope I can return this to my seller. I also have warranty from them, but I don't they will repair it, whet the didn't notice it from beginning.

    Edit:

If anyone is interested quadro was broken.
