I really like my Latitude E4300 but lack of high resolution screen has me looking for a replacement.

Does Dell have a 13" laptop with similar look and feel to the E4300 but with a high res screen?

    Thanks guys :)

There isn't really a direct successor to the 4300 anymore... I think the closest thing you can get now is probably the E7240, which does have a 1080p option, so if that doesn't fit your criteria, you're probably out of luck.

    Blast.

Looks like the E7000 series has no built in optical drive.

Dell doesn't make a Latitude smaller than 14" with an optical drive anymore. Even then, as you've noticed, you have to go for the mainstream 5000 or budget 3000 series to get one...
