I have an intermittent touchpad/keyboard issue that points at the motherboard as the fault. I would like to replace the mobo and am curious if I can upgrade the video card with it. My current mobo has the FX880M, if I replace the mobo with one that has the FX1800 will there be any issues beyond updating drivers?

After replacing the mobo, is there any further software configuration needed upon reboot? This will be my first mobo replacement...although Dell has done it three times on this computer...

So, is there a reason you would want to replace the mobo over just getting a new machine all together? The M4600 as a unit doesnt cost much.

Im just thinking that after the purchase price of the replacement mobo, the upgraded card, and the work involved you may be better off getting a new (used) unit. Depending on what you need, the first listed is the cheapest. The Core i7 it has is only dual core, but would do most things just fine. The video card is decent (not a huge fan of AMD cards, but they work) and everything else looks good.

Just throwing some ideas out there.

Thanks for the options, I didn't realize they were so inexpensive. The main reason is because I can get the mobo (and video card) for about $100. I'm not a fan of replacing everything I get, especially if the gain isn't that great, when I can repair it. The specs on those computers (other than the 1080P and USB 3.0 and the one with 16 GB RAM) seem identical to what I already have? Unless I'm missing something in the specs?
