I've got an E6500 lighted keyboard with a couple of bad keys (travel is off and taps don't always register), and assumed it's not a good idea to pop them out to see what's going on, so was looking into replacing the keyboard. They're all over Ebay and Amazon, but most are after market and pretty cheap. Are these up to OEM quality standards, or should I stick with a genuine Dell part? I assume direct from Dell would be a little pricy (can't get their website to bring one up). I found this on Ebay that looks decent, but with most of these Ebay sellers, you never know;-).
    Thanks

The one you shown is not backlit. It's the regular model. This is the backlit model. It says OEM and new so I'd assume it's the perfect replacement. But like you said it's ebay. It is a bit pricier too.

Right you are, ssj92 ;-)...I quickly typed it in search and forgot to add the lighted part. The link you sent is exactly it, half what Dell is asking. Just wish these kind of sellers had more reliable Feedback.

Dell likely has a large profit margin on parts, hence the price difference. Dell doesn't directly make the keyboards, so it's possible that some sellers get them directly them from the ODM and sell for less.

I had to laugh when I saw what Dell wanted for a 256GB SSD...guess they think they're Apple;-)

Nah, just common practice in pretty much every industry, lower margins on the larger, more expensive equipment and higher margin on parts. You should see how little it costs to make a remote for a split type air conditioner vs how much they'll sell it to you. It costs less than 30$ to make and replacements are usually sold in the 100$-150$ range (rough estimates).

The link I posted is actually a good listing, especially if dell wants 2x more. I think you'd be happy with that one. After shipping it's $28.99. I believe dell charges around $7+ just for shipping so that deal is actually not bad. Although I do prefer 100% feedback, that seller should be fine. I looked up the neutral and negative feedback and none of them are based on that keyboard. Seems people who bought the keyboard left positive feedback.
