I found out myself last night that M2400 does not support quad cores. The 370M is really the same with 160M in reality. So $20 is a total waste, considering in percentage of your laptop's current value, probably at or less than $200.

Someone not trying to look for a deal might pay over $300, that's what they go for on Newegg refurbished. Not that I want to sell it anyway. I wish there was a CPU support list but I can't find one. At least not for the M2400 anyway, the guide I linked to has one (I don't know if it's totally complete) for the E6400.

All in all, there really is no difference between the two. I would rather spend say $20 towards SSD if you are serious about efficiently allocating your capital. Overall performance being the objective that is.

btw why do you think the intel IGP is horrible? Ok, it's horrible for gaming, but the nvidia isn't that much better in gaming. The nvidia gets much hotter when browsing through websites with flash, watching flash streams, etc. I would go with Intel. The only big disadvantage is that intel doesn't provide driver support for win8, so you wont have opengl in win8 with the intel igp.

@ the guys with the copper mod

is it true that the fan turns on more often and faster with the copper mod? I read 2 posts about it,

intel graphics aint too bad, considering it does support 1600.

For the fan situation, i thought it was rather more with the temperature of the chip. really hard to compare two different cooling situations
