I need a lower resolution LCD, 1900x1200 is too small icons and fonts for me, I would like to replace it by a 1400x900 LCD, because both of them are CCFL it should be easier right ?, there is no change in technology like when you switch to LED ?, any previous experience ?, where I can find the P/N and where I should buy it ?, thanks

Depending on what you buy, the LCD swap could be easy or a little less than easy. If you buy an entire display assembly, it should be easy; if you buy just the panel, it should be a little less than easy.

Dell shows you how to remove and replace the entire display assembly and the panel itself:

Don't know where you're going find the display, though; I could only find one or two super-expensive WSXGA and WUXGA units on eBay... possibly even Dell will sell you one for less. Call them up.
