    Hello there

I found a Dell D610 refurbished on tigerdirect that I want to give to a friend of mine. He needs it for basic computing. But I am concerned about the battery. How long does it keep usually new and after one year? I have no idea if Dell D 610 durability and performance...

any input would be greatly appreciated...

What size is the battery (I recall there are 4 cell, 6 cell and 9 cell options) and does the D610 have a dedicated GPU?

It should be good for 3 hours with a healthy 6 cell battery, possibly more.

However, I reckon on a battery losing about 1/3rd of its capacity per year (some are better, some are worse) so the actual run time will depend on battery condition.
