I've been eyeing the new breed of ultra-mobile PCs for the last several months. The idea of an easy to take anywhere notebook holds a great deal of appeal but the decrease resolution and extra small keyboards were a real concern. After losing two laptops in two months (broken screen by son and bowl of fruit loops to kb by daughter) I was in real need of a new one. I had decided on a Dell Vostro 1400 with the 14.1" screen as being a good compromise of features, portability and price but it was late and I was tired and I decided I would order it tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and the 1400 is no longer on their web site  Back to square one. I continued to browse Dell's site, looking for bargins and stumbled over to their DFS page. Looking their I found a bunch of notebook with 12.1" screens, all D400 except for one D410. I little research and a quick review of the wonderful D410 review on this site and soon I had that D410 on my way. I was not considering a used machine but after a week with the D410 I'm convinced it was the perfect choice.

If you want to read more about my experience with the D410 I've typed much more about it over on my blog, http://montysreality.blogspot.com/

Off to check out the rest of the forum, but I wanted to give a quick intro post of how I got here and share how happy I am with this machine, highly recommended!

    Thanks!

    Monty
