Random freezes on Vostro 1500?

Hmm.

On my Vostro 1500, what is like a month old .. it has served me well, but there have been random freezes - like where nothing works, not even mouse and you'll have to hold on the power button and the restart.

Does anyone have any ideas what might cause it?
So far it has happened 3-4 times, totally randomly .. sometimes when I exit from a game it goes to desktop and thats it.
Or sometimes when I close some other big applications like Photoshop CS3 or Maya, after the program has shut down everything freezes. : (

I read that it might be a memory problem? Or maybe laptopvideo2go.com driver problem?

Have you run Memtest? What video driver do you have?

 

try to uninstall Windows Update KB943899, this causes random problem on Dell Computers.

 

how do you uninstall that? i have a similar problem also.
