    Superfetch is still running. I can live with the temperature (but not with the noise)
    My next planed acquirement will be a Samsung SSD PB22-J 2.5", 256GB, SATA II (MMDOE56G5MXP-0VB).

    Update:
    Ordered my new Samsung SSD PB22-J 2.5", 256GB, SATA II (MMDOE56G5MXP-0VB) Friday.

    Great work Heinz!

    Here's my max load temps after a 1024 wPrime run + a 3DMark 06 bench.

    Both on a backup WD Scorpio running x64 Vista.

    @ofelas
    This looks very good.
    I guess you are using the new thermal paste now. (?)
    What was the FID (frequency) for this test? Quadcore@2,53GHz?
    What was your old temperature?

    Btw: 256GB SSD Samsung is a good storage device. I have
    also installed one last night (I think one of the first Non-OEM in Germany).
    It is quiet, fast, big enought for me (now) and energy saving (more tests with this SSD-beast maybe later).

    "its got to be perfect ...."

    @heinz
    Yup, CL Liquid Pro on the CPU (QuadCore 2.53) - thx for that excellent suggestion.
    I used a .9mm copper square + OCZ Freeze paste on the Northbridge - it used to max out at ~87 degrees before the copper mod, and now, will not go above 75 degrees.
    On the GPU - I noticed I only had 25% contact with the heatsink due to an airgap, so I used a .7mm copper square + CL Liquid Pro - the result was a big drop at load, even though I only have ~70% contact area as the shim was not quite large enough for the GPU die.
    As soon as I cut a larger shim or get a replacement heatsink for the GPU, I'm quite certain I won't see load temps much over 80 degrees.

    Ofelas,
    Would you mind to tell me where to get the copper square, I might need one for my e6500, thanks.

    Same here. Although I don't usually get the fan running at high speed (it's stopped undocked and on slow speed while docked), sometimes watching something on youtube or other flash stuff is enough to start the fan at high speed. I'd like to change that.

    A related question: aren't you guys worried that Dell may refuse to provide warranty cover from now on?

    With a better thermal paste and a better application I am not realy worried about the warranty and maintenance services by Dell. On the other side Dell may be worried because there is evidence for bad quality in the thermal assembly of million notebooks.
    I am quiet sure, that Dell do not realy want to discuss this with all the people that applied a better thermal paste and Dell does not want to lose customers.

    Heinz, please take note of this post. I felt that maybe you could have some additional information that might be useful for Dell's engineers. If so, please add it to the corresponding thread.
