    I've got a V131 with a i5-2430M.

I'm using trial versions of two different video convertors (CyberLink Mediaespresso and Arcsoft Mediaconvertor) with Quicksync support and neither of them allow me to enable Quicksync or hardware encoding. I also tried Badaboom a few months ago and had the same issue.

This is not a limitation of the trial versions. Does anybody know what is going on and how I can enable Quicksync?

Do you already have the latest Intel graphics drivers installed?

I have the latest Dell driver. The Intel drivers cause some issues with brightness adjustment and occasional issues with flickering so I'm hesitant to install them. I was hoping somebody had figured this out when using the Dell drivers.

I was able to get Quicksync working with the latest (8.15.10.2622) Intel drivers. These drivers seem to have resolved the issues (brightness adjustment issues, screen flickering, etc) with the previous Intel driver. I have not tested these drivers extensively, but they seem to be working well.

Quicksync is incredible! I was able to get a good quality DVD->MP4 (H264) conversion of a 2 hour and 15 minute movie done in ~8 minutes with ~30% CPU usage.

Unfortunately the various video convertors I tried were not very good. Confusing configuration options, quirky behavior, odd defaults, etc. There is no way I'm paying for them. There is a free application - MediaCoder - that supports quicksync, but it's got problems as well.
