Two quick questions while I'm configuring my new order...1) does anyone know how much weight the Gorilla Glass touch screen adds? I have seen this model without it and it does not seem to weigh as much as the review models which include the GG touch screen. 2) is there a BIOS option to turn off the touch screen? seen one in the latest XPS 15 BIOS.

    Thanks!

I've been through all the BIOS options on my (non-touch) E5570 and see nothing relating to the touchscreen.

The E5570 weight appears to vary substantially depending on configuration. Mine, with the 6 cell battery, weighs 2.35kg (checked on two different digital scales). It has the 6 cell battery which Dell's specs in back of the Owner's Manual indicates adds 0.11kg while the nominal weight in the manual is "starting" 2.09kg. I would expect the minimum weight spec to include an M.2 SSD, WWAN card and one RAM module. I have two RAM modules and the WWAN card as well as the bigger battery, also the smartcard and fingerprint readers and a backlit keyboard (but no dGPU which needs a bigger heatsink). I'm surprised that the extra bits over the minimum add 0.15kg but maybe Dell left more pieces off when doing the factory weigh-in.

This doesn't help answer your question about the weight of the touchscreen but highlights that you would need to compare versions with the identical hardware except for the touchscreen. The density of glass is 2500 kg per m³ so a piece the size of the display and 0.5mm thick would weigh 0.075kg. More or less glass thickness would change the weight.
