Questions for Latitude 5000 series (Haswell) owners.

I believe those would be the E5440 and E5540.

1. Do they have a track point and trackpoint buttons? Some of the pictures on Dell's website shows them, while others do not. Latitude 14 5000 Series | Dell (the sideways pictures shows a trackpoint, while the overhead picture does not).

2. Can you disable the nVidia card through BIOS settings, if your configuration comes with an nVidia card?

On a related note, the 3000 and 5000 series are the successors to the Vostro, right?

 

Did you ever get to the bottom of whether it has a trackpoint?

The attached Setup and Features PDF shows a "trackstick (optional)" and "trackstick buttons (optional)" on pages 1 and 2.

It does have a track point. At least the one I have does.

How are you finding the Latitude E5540? Haven't seen much reviews about them online. Did yours come with a 9 cell battery? How long does the battery last?

 

I ordered a 5540, i'll post impressions when it arrives.

 

The laptop is currently going back to Dell because they messed up the order and sent me one with the 1366x768 screen when it should have had the 1920x1080.
I believe it has a 6 cell battery. From the little I got to use it, it seemed like a nice laptop. I really liked the touch screen.

 

I'm interested in e5440. How are you satisfied with the laptop? How's battery life, built quality, noise/overheating? thanks
