Question on how to auto-set Projector Only (external monitor) when Precision M6600 is docked.

Two identical docking systems. One at home, one at work.
Identical everything (docking station, monitor, keyboard, mouse).

At work M6600 will always boot or resume to Projector Only (which is what I want).
At home M6600 will always resume to Extend display using both external monitor and internal. After a year I've finally decided now I need to solve this irritation.

Any suggestions how I get home docking system to always resume using Projector Only (i.e. external monitor only).

This is actually less trivial then one thinks because external monitor at work and home is 2560x1600 (Dell 3008WFP) which means at home (on resume) resolution switches to 1920x1080 (and everything gets resized, etc.).

    Thanks.

Not sure I follow your comment.

M6600 is docked at work (using only external monitor), lid is then closed, undocked, taken home, then docked at home, lid opened and it resumes (or comes out of hibernation) using both external monitor and internal.

Do you use external peripherals? Keep the lid closed and it will default to the external monitor.

Both docking stations (work and home) have the same external keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

If I dock it at home and keep the lid closed it won't power up ...

That's probably why it enables the internal screen.

We've found the issue, but I don't think there's a solution...I also can't wake up my E6410 if I dock or undock the laptop while it's suspended.

So why does docking at work (and open lid) always result in external only?

Have you installed the driver for the display? Try starting it up at home, then setting it to external only and shutting it down.
