I have a few questions about upgrading my M4600. The current specs are:

    Processor is an i7 - 2960XM, 32GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD and 2TB HDD, and an Nvidia M2000 GPU.

I know I'm maxed out on the RAM, but I was wondering if there is a better CPU for the M4600? What about GPUs? Has anyone confirmed whether or not the M200M works with the M4600? Or, to go completely crazy, the M5500M or M4000M?
Finally, does anyone have a Dell part number for a Blu Ray player/burner as a replacement for the DVDRW?

    Thanks in advance!

You have maxed out the CPU. You can only use Sandy Bridge CPUs in this machine (CPU model numbers starting with "2").

No one has confirmed whether or not the M2000M works, but I think that it is doubtful, since the K2000M and K2100M do not work. None of the higher "M" GPUs above M2000M could possibly work, they are physically too large to fit in the machine.

You can use any optical SATA drive that is 9.5mm tall. Check out the LG BU20N. It is available at Amazon.

Thanks for the fast reply. So it seems as though I have the laptop pretty much maxed out. Considering what I paid for the laptop, especially with all the RAM, I guess it's a pretty good machine. Now if I can only do something about the cooling. I wonder if I can get two Opolar LC06 fans to attach to the back. One did wonders on my E6420, between that and a cooler pad it dropped the core temps from ~150F to ~100F.
