    Hi everyone!

I'm planning a project with a Latitude E7250 and I have a question about the output on the LCD cable. I would like to try dropping in a QHD+ panel, but they are all 40 pin. The standard non-touch cable has a 40 pin connector to the motherboard and a 30 pin to the screen. The touch cable has a 40 pin to the motherboard and 40 pin to the screen. Now, I understand that the extra 10 pins on the touch are for the touch screen interface, but what I was wondering was would the same 40/40 cable work on a 40 pin LCD panel? I.e, would the 40/40 carry the extra video data if the right screen was in place?

If not, is there any cable that I could try that would fit on the 40 pin motherboard connector?

    Thanks!

It should—it is the display and motherboard that control the touch/display signals through the cables, and the cables merely carry data. If you have the 40 – 40 cable and plug it into a display with a 40-pin port, there should be no reason why it wouldn't work.
