Q: Second HDD for Latitude/Precision

    Yeah. But for now, I might keep using it with the HDD. When SSDs become cheaper, I might get a SSD.
    Btw, the description says 5400RPM. so I dont think it might be any slower than the 2.5" 5400 version.

    The average transfer rate will be slower than a 2.5" HDD. The 1.8" HDD is effectively using the slow (inner) part of the 2.5" HDD platter.

    Yup,less than half the average transfer rate of my 2.5".

    Dell is dumb sometimes....one step forward,a step sideway's,two backwards,and then try to extort money from it....eg.their pricing on these secondary drives.

    That ebay price is excellent.....pity about what's in it.
