When you order a new M6400 with only a single hard-drive, does Dell still include the 2nd empty chassis for my convenience? or do I have to pay extra for it at a later date?

I won't speak for anyone else, but mine came with the 2nd hard drive caddy, complete with screws and interposer (it was originally configured with just a 128GB SSD).

hmmm.. wonder if it depends on which country the order originates from.

    Hi

I also don't think it depends on the country, but i heard from a couple of people that theirs come without the 2nd drive chassis and without that special SATA Adapter you need to install the scond drive.

I would call Dell and Ask them, also you can order via phone (my recommendation) and ask the seller and broing this point to a must for your order)

    regards
    Christopher

Mine came with all the parts required for the 2nd hard drive.

It also states that these parts are included in the online service manual for the M6400 - so if yours doesn't you need to get in touch with Dell and demand them for free because they are advertised as coming with them.
