I've bought 2x2GB of the appropriate Crucial memory and followed the instructions to replace both. All went well except the problem is that now I appear to only have a single chip operational - reporting as 2046MB. The site on the underside doesn't seem to be working.

I've tried putting the 1GB stick back in and still nothing so it's probably not an issue with the new one. It was definitely working before I started as I had 2x1GB reporting as 2GB. I was careful to remove the battery and AC lead before fiddling and grounded myself properly throughout.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

(red-faced) Thanks for the quick advice. I decided to try one more time and found I hadn't been pressing the chip in enough. All fine now. I have 4GB available, now to clone the hard disk.
