Hi, I´m using Xp sp3, and I just add a new hard disk to my vostro1700. Problem is now that when I shut down laptop, it takes a lot time (closing system), about 2-3 minutes, when with only one HD it takes 15 seconds.

If I start in safe mode, system turns off very fast¡¡¡¡ but running in normal mode, no.

somebody knows if there some adjustment for work with 2 hd? patch?

    thanks....

generally a hard drive should not cause a system to act any differently i have 4 hard drives in my desktop computer started with 1 then kept adding them on now i have 4 the speed is still the same, if the drive is causing problems it may be defective try running some hard drive tests to see if there is something wrong with the drive that maybe causing the system to hault.
