Has anyone done a video or post (with pictures) on doing this swap?

I am looking to complete this, but can only find a post by LannBot saying its direct.

I'm interested in the thermal pads and x brackets specifically.

    Thanks in advance.

If you want to swap the GPU in your precision notebook tourist know these things. Of you come from a amd card you can put in easily an 7970m/8970m by reusing the heat pads, heat sink and x bracket. If you damage the heat pads during transfer just purchase new ones from eBay before you do the swap so you have them in hand.
The same thing goes for quadro to 680m/780m. You just reuse the heat sink and x bracket plus the heat pads. Usually it's pretty easy to save the heat pads.
If you buy the new GPU from clevo please make sure you do not use the xbracket that comes with the GPU as it is too tall and it won't allow you to properly mount the heat sink on it. Other than that everything should be pretty straight forward if you read the service manual on how to take the notebook apart.
Also removing the xbracket from the original GPU will require a bit of patience an heat from either a hair drier or a professional heat gun.

Thanks for the help. So I got the card swapped, but can't find a driver that will support the card? Advise?

"GeForce GTX 680M -- The manufacturer of this system requires that you download the driver for your GPU from their support site."

    hardware id is PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&CC_0300
